The weather, the company, the entertainment and the official presentation to our Eaglehawk Citizen of the Year - what a great day!
We appreciate the great support received for the event with a special mention to Phoenix FM for again broadcasting live from Canterbury Park throughout the morning. Our thanks go to the Eaglehawk Scouts for officiating the flag raising ceremony, Anne Conway for her Acknowledgment of Country, a great job by our Past President Geoff Gallagher who put in a huge effort organising the event and then taking on the MC Role and the announcement of the Citizen of the Year. Cr. Damian Hurrell representing the City of Greater Bendigo and undertaking the official presentation to Albert 'Skip' Skipper, the Eaglehawk Citizens Brass Band for their outstanding efforts in entertaining the crowd and to Julia Wellard who led us in both the 'National Anthem' and 'We Are Australian'. We also thank the local Karen Community for their wonderful performance at the conclusion of the event. And finally, a special acknowledgment of the efforts of our members who prepared and served the breakfast - a wonderful team and thank you to all involved.
