Our Bendigo students have been attending NYSF over the January holidays. It was great to hear from some of our BSSC students from Brisbane. See their email and photo below.
The quarterly cluster youth meeting will be held in February so will keep you posted with the minutes later. There is a lot to discuss with so many amazing youth programs in which Rotary is involved.
Just a reminder that Dot Smith is still collecting clothing and toys for babies thru to teenagers for the Back Packs 4 Vic Kids program. Members are welcome to give me items at our club meeting or drop to my home anytime.
Mandy, Kate and I continue to help our two Karen girls Say Htoo and Pan Sein. They are loving swimming lessons with Mandy, have started driving lessons and are enrolling in TAFE for the coming year so they are super busy. Kate has helped them do the RYLA survey which has been challenging and may need to be modified perhaps in future. Plenty of new experiences ahead for them both.
The Board has approved that the club can apply for a grant for our Marvellous Miles book project so we are hoping that can progress to the next stage soon.
Jennifer is organising some of the students to speak in the coming weeks about their youth programs and hopefully we can include them all in one evening as we do have a lot of planning to manage with coming events.
Lynne Cooper.
