![]() | This Nativity Scene was displayed on the balcony of the Eaglehawk Town Hall each December for some 54 years. Its origin dates back to 1966 when the then Mayoress of the Borough of Eaglehawk, Mrs. Muriel Roy, embarked on what was to become an annual tradition for the Council. After Local Government amalgamations the annual Christmas display was continued by the Rotary Club of Eaglehawk. The nativity scene has been relocated to this window as a nod to its historic relevance of Eaglehawk and is now able to be better viewed and appreciated. The balcony of the town hall continues to be decorated in a colourful display of trees and lighting - a great festive addition to the Borough in the lead up to Christmas. |
